WORDfest Crawley Book Fair 2011

With Teresa still on her way home from Crawley and Madeleine and I unpacking back at our homes, I thought I'd take a minute to update you all after the exciting premier of WORDfest today!

Waking at 7am, breakfast in bellies and layered up with clothes we headed into Crawley town centre, Queen Square, to be greeted by smiling faces directing us to our prime spots for the day.

Today we were selling books to help fundraising for our WATERPROOF adventure to the Pleasance. All sorts of books; from hard-back nature books, to soft-back fiction...Anything we could find from anyone who offered. We had a great selection, and once the boxes were unpacked and our display skills were put to the test we got selling (well after a well needed Costa coffee!)

It was a really buzzing area with the public loving the welcomed sun and range of second-hand books. Throughout the day we got to meet some lovely, talented performers (some as young as 16yrs of age!) who entertained us, especially through quieter moments, with great poetry, song and music.

Next Saturday (9th April) How It Ended Productions will be back in Crawley to host all day workshops at Ginger Moo. Have a look at an earlier blog for more details!

But if you're near Crawley at any point this week, if you're interested in the arts/ performance/ any form of words or if you just want to show your support, please come along and check it out!

Thank you again to all the organisers; you are fab.

We look forward to seeing you there!
